Tallow Chandlers' Hall, 22 November 2021

On Monday 22 November 2021, Pollinating London Together held an Update and Planning Reception at Tallow Chandlers’ Hall.  We were honoured to have as our esteemed guests, former Lord Mayor of London Sir Charles Bowman and Sheriff Alderman Alison Gowman, and showing their support were Masters, Prime Wardens, Clerks and members from eighteen Livery Companies.

The evening began with a warm welcome from the Master Tallow Chandlers, Oliver Kirby-Johnson.  Sue Green, PLT Event Chair, PLT Board Member and Deputy Master Wax Chandler, hosted and guided the informative presentations from three speakers. First, PLT Chairman John Burton, gave an overview of all our hard work and achievements in 2021, and presented our plans for 2022. Next Rhiannon Goddard, Head of Public Engagement Projects and Business Management at Historic Royal Palaces, captivated us with a sneak peak of behind-the-scene plans for Superbloom, a celebratory event for HRH The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year at the Tower of London. The final speaker of the evening was Dr Heather Barrett-Mold OBE, PLT Science Chair, PLT Vice Chair and Immediate Past Master Gardener, who gave an insightful update on PLT’s Science Working Group and their hopes and plans for the year to come.

After the presentations, everyone moved into the Parlour for some bio-dynamic wine and delicious canapés served by the Tallow Chandlers’ partner caterers, Life’s Kitchen.
